So you have an item you think is valuable. But you don’t want to look like a fool if you bring it into the shop and get a quote lower than what you thought it was worth. You don’t have to worry. Don’t waste your time coming into the shop if you don’t even know if you want to sell your item. Instead you can get something called a “quote over the phone.” This means you can call one of our amazing employees and get a quote on your item before you come into the shop. They will then give you an estimate of the price they think it’s worth. But before you give us a call, there are a lot of things that you could do to make it easier for the person giving you the quote and make their estimate more accurate. So we will go over them below.

Take Pictures

A picture says a thousand words, and in this case, it could be the difference between $15 and $40. The smallest detail in an object can make the most significant difference. But that can also go the other way around. If you describe something on the phone and the condition of it is worse than you said, the estimated price you got for the item will most likely be higher than your object is worth. Taking pictures of your item makes a huge difference. With all that being said, if you don’t have a camera or electronic to take photos with, we will still do our best to tell you what we feel like your item is worth based on the details you give us.

If you do not have pictures to send to us, here are a few other things that will make the process easier and more accurate.

Describe your item on paper first

Before you get on the phone write down everything you know about the object you want to sell. Are there scratches, marks, or broken pieces on your item? If so, you will want to be sure to include that while you are describing it. Other things you need to gather before you make the call on the phone are brand name, condition, year, and extra details like a signature or design.

Writing all of these things down will not only make the process faster and easier, but it will also make the person on the phone want to work with you better.

What do I do After I Get a Quote on my item?

You got a quote, and you are happy with the appraisal you got. Now, what do you do? Well, that’s easy. You can either keep the item if you feel like the value will increase in the years to come, sell the item online, or bring it into our shop and sell it for some quick cash. If you do choose to sell your item to our pawn shop, be sure to bring your I.D. with you. Not many people know this, but every pawn shop has a specific process they have to go through before they can put anything on the shelves of their store. Once you sell your item to a pawn shop, they will put it into their system with the code, pictures, and anything that might help if the item has been reported stolen. You do not have to wait for this process before you get cash, but you will have to show your I.D. in case anything comes up. If the item does, however, show up as stolen, your I.D. and other information will be given to the police.

If you are interested in getting a quote over the phone you can call us up at (801) 876-1743 or contact us online.
